The band got its name from singer and lead guitarist Cody Canada, drummer Randy Ragsdale, rhythm guitarist Grady Cross, and bassist Jeremy Plato, who formed the band in 1994 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Despite the fact that the band traveled extensively from the beginning, developing a particularly strong fan base in Texas, its debut album, Highway 377, was not released until 2001.
