Andrew Weissman is a prominent US attorney who has headed the US Department of Justice’s Criminal Fraud Section since 2015. In June 2017, Andrew was appointed to a leadership position on the Special Counsel team led by Robert Mueller.
To begin his new job, Mr. Weissman took a leave of absence from his position with the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice. After completing the Special Counsel’s investigation in 2019, Andrew transitioned to the private sector.
Andrew is a proud graduate of Princeton University, where he received his undergraduate degree in 1980. He then received a Fulbright scholarship to the University of Geneva, where he studied and graduated from Columbia Law School (1984). Mr. Weissman then served as a clerk to Judge Eugene Nickerson of the Federal District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

In 2015, he began working as a special advisor to Mueller. Andrew then went on to work in the private sector at Jenner & Block in New York. In 2011, Weissman served as attorney general under Mueller. For two years he headed the criminal fraud division of the Ministry of Justice.
