The Houston-born Filipino-American began dancing at an early age, surrounded by an entertainment-oriented family. Later in life, he would hone his vocal skills, concentrating on smooth R&B delivery. He performed acoustic R&B and rap covers set to his own choreography on his internet streaming channel. Puspos, who was influenced by late-’90s and early-’00s R&B like Dru Hill, posted covers of Bryson Tiller, Drake, Bruno Mars, and Anderson. Paak. Paak would subsequently collaborate with Puspos in the studio, co-writing the song “Be Ready,” which was included on Puspos’ first EP, S.L.A.B. (“Slow Love and Bangin’”). The six-track album was released in early 2017, with the slinky bedroom R&B song “Murder She Wrote” serving as a lead single. On the Billboard R&B Albums list, S.L.A.B. debuted at number 24.
