(4-3-3) David De Gea Best goalkeeper in the world and a very easy decision given Liverpools chequered past – even though Loris Karius has looked steadier recently. Antonio Valencia Trent Alexander-Arnold and Joe Gomez have both played well this season but Valencia gets the nod. Virgil van Dijk Best pound-for-pound central defender in either squad and so calm in and out of possession. A huge capture for Jurgen Klopp. Eric Bailly Hasnt actually started a game since returning from a serious ankle injury but is Uniteds finest in that position. Andrew Robertson Continues to produce encouraging displays and may turn out to be an absolute steal for Klopp. Attacks with purpose and defensively firm. Nemanja Matic Reads the game expertly and never looks particularly ruffled. Had a dip in form but is coming back strongly. Emre Can Edges Paul Pogba out on current form. Pogba will drag himself out of this slump but Can has looked tidy. Adam Lallana The most incisive runner from midfield in either squad and, when fit, walks into either XI. A big few months coming up for Lallana. Mo Salah Possibly an even easier decision than picking De Gea. There are no superlatives left for Salah and how United must wish they have someone boasting his end product. Romelu Lukaku Statistics are strong in his debut season despite the constant flak. Has scored enough goals and holding himself well. Roberto Firmino Gone slightly under the radar given Salahs impressive numbers but 22 goals and 12 assists cannot be ignored. Subs: Karius, Jones, Alexander-Arnold, Pogba, Sanchez, Rashford, Mane. (menos)
